I’m in the middle of writing right now so this will be quick. I already spent too much time online earlier trying to catch up, I will catch up some more tomorrow (promise). But I wanted to stop in and say that I was worried my little wave of writing bliss had ended yesterday because I was faced with a migraine and the song (Local Natives – “Wide Eyes”) was losing it’s potency. I still LOVE the song, but the scenes and chapters it helped me write were over and it was time for something different. So I downloaded their entire album and BAM I was back in the story. So of course I have to share the song that will live on repeat now until I’ve fulfilled my fix. And I urge you all to go and download it yourselves because it’s FREE right now on Amazon. Click HERE.

Anyway without further ado, here is “Sun Hands” by Local Natives

-Lyrics-

I climbed to the top of a hill,
But I had just missed the sun.
And although the descending arc was gone,
Left behind were the traces that always follow along.

The most beautiful colours chase the sun.
They wrap her trail.
In a taunting gesture that seems to sing out loud,
This is what you’re missing.

I’ll endure the night,
For the promise of light.
I’ll endure the night,
For the promise of light.

I want to lift,
My hands to the sun.
Show me warmth,
Baby won’t you show me warmth again.

And when I can feel with my sun hands,
I’ll promise not to lose her again.
And even if the morning never comes,
My hands are blessed to have touched sun.
And when I can feel with my sun hands,
I’ll promise not to lose her again.

I’ll endure the night,
For the promise of light.
I’ll endure the night,
For the promise of light.

And when I can feel with my sun hands,
I’ll promise not to lose her again.
And when I can feel with my sun hands,
I’ll promise not to lose her again.

Peace – Sarah
